Dear all,
Ezen a héten Magyarországon---
I feel like I was everywhere!
Okay, not everywhere.
But I was in Nyíregyháza, Budapest, and Miskolc... oh, my! Haha
Being in Miskolc was amazing, I want to serve there sooo bad! Okay, okay, okayyy, I get that way every time I visit a new area. It's weird to think that I actually don't have that many new areas (or even none!) left in me.
District conference was awesome---our RC got sustained to recieve the Melchezidek priesthood and they had him go up and bear his testimony in front of the whole eastern zone of Hungary. Something about watching the people you work with up there, standing on their own in the Gospel, saying the things they've grown to know to be true, and speaking about how much their life has changed, makes you really realize how worth it all of this is. Really, truly.
I got to go on splits with Sister Dohm and Sister Vandenberghe this week! Three of my companions---in one day! It's weird to see how different we are at different parts of our missions, but I particularly enjoyed splitting with Sister Vandenberghe, we were together way back when she was in her third transfer and I was in my second and now she's an STL up in Buda! We talked about everyone in Szeged and Szombathely and really some of the greatest parts of my mission and old lessons and experiences. I loved it.
Back when I was companions with Sister Dohm she told me some advice her brother gave her. She said the second you treat each new companion like a new best friend instead of a new business partner, that's the second you differentiate between being here just to work or being here to really serve. I couldn't agree more. When we got to go back on splits this past week, I realized that some of the people I've had the greatest pleasure to meet here in Hungary are the people I got to serve side-by-side with.
This week Roland moved to Slovenia to help with the grape harvest, which was, not going to lie, a really big bummer for us. He was progressing pretty well, but he has his Book of Mormon and the Church website and we talked about a "Spiritual Game Plan" in our last meeting. He also gave us glass figurines of birds, it was pretty nifty. ;)
Erika is doing really well, our last lesson was on repentance and went really well and I randomly got really choked up. I don't know what's been up recently, but I've been losing it in the lessons. I chalk it up to being a sister missionary. Best excuse to everything ever ;)
Sorry, this week was really busy and we did lots, but I feel wayyyy tired today, so I'll end with a fun fact: our apartment is infested with ants and so we've been keeping our cereal in the fridge and mah Cini Minis are pretty dang frosty in the morning. So, if you ever feel down, remember that you at least live with the immense luxury of keeping your cereal in the cupboards and not having to open your fridge when the STLs come on splits and have them be like..."...you know cereal...doesn't go in the fridge, right?" #toldthemitwasavirginiathing ;)
Love you all!
Don't forget your favorite Hungarian mish!
