I received my call on March the 6th, 2014.
I was wigging out of MY MIND.
I remember sitting in my Communications lecture with the distinct impression, "it's here. IT'S HERE."
I hopped right up and literally ran home. I stood outside the mailbox covered with chills, my hands shaking, and slowly opened it the box that read apt. 65.
You know those moments where you feel like something should be shining or angels should be singing or glowing like straight out of an old-school cartoon?
Me neither, until this moment.
It was so beautiful.
I experienced pretty much every emotion from, "I want to open it. I want to open it RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW" to "I can't open it. I can't do this. What if they send me to Zimbabwe? What if I get sent to Boise? I can't even pop popcorn without setting the bag on fire (true story), HOW AM I GOING TO DO THIS..."
It was pretty dramatic.
And so I went to the Provo temple. And I prayed for peace. And I felt it. And I knew that wherever they sent me, well, that was where my Father in Heaven needed me. And it wasn't until that exact moment, about an hour before I opened my call, that I truly gained a testimony of the power of mission calls, and the awesomely divine inspiration behind them. But once I had that surety, I was ready to open it. And I felt ready to go.
So we all headed to our apartment complex's lounge and I Skyped my family and my beautiful friend, Bethany, and I opened it.
"Dear Sister Carle:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Hungary Budapest Mission."
And it was pretty much the greatest thing ever.

My lovely roommate, Jenna, and I after my mission call opening.
Since my mission call opening, Jenna has been called to the New York, New
York South mission, which is basically the coolest thing ever. Our missions will overlap for about sixteen months, she reports to the Provo MTC on September 17th, about the same time I leave for Hungary!
