Hell, there! Awesome to hear from everyone--glad to hear the Carle's were all over the globe these past few weeks: San Diego, Brazil, Virginia, New Orleans, and Hungary, oh, my! Hahaha but seriously, the pics were way cool, Virginia is looking mad good this time of year. #eastcoastrepresent!
Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day holiday, it was Pentecost here in Hungary so everything was closed on Monday so I had to email today instead of Monday, and next week is (quite unbelievably) transfers again--so I'll be emailing on Tuesday next week as well.
Anyways, this week:
1.) We used our lunch hour to visit one of our English class student's super sick garden that was alongside a railway line and picked cherries off his giant cherry tree and picked flowers from his garden and felt so European it hurt.
2.) We left a lesson and started walking home. It had been super warm all day, so obviously we were dressed accordingly. All of a sudden these huge, dark rain clouds started to roll in and we were like, "Oh, dang. It's going to rain." And then it started to hail. At the end of May! What is this?? My comp and I got a few good bonks on the head from hail the size of marbles (I kid you not) before eventually finding shelter for a good half hour underneath an overhang at the local high school.
3.) After that, it rained the rest of the week and is still going! That's kind of sad because I miss the warmth that is springtime pick-cherries-off-of-trees Hungary, but mostly because it was raining, hailing, and being so straight-up windy that Dohm Nővér and I ruined not one, not two butTHREE umbrellas! Ain't nobody got money for dat! Hahaha
4.) We went hiking up in the awesome Hungarian-Austrian mountains again and found the "Két forrás"--which was really cool. I also felt pretty adventurous so I tried rose flavored ice cream--and I can highly recommend. Finomság!
5.) Splits in Tatabánya was bombin'--it's so cool to see how much a work can progress in an area. It was awesome to go back and see what Sister Geröly and I had started back in January grow and change thanks to the diligent work of the STLs up there. It taught me a super cool lesson about never getting discouraged with the work where you're doing now---because you're doing good :)
6.) Transfers again. Kind of mind-blowing, time moves at this super slow-fast pace of time warp weirdness that leaves me both feeling like I'm practically from Szombathely and also like I've barely been here at all at the same time. I'm nervous for transfers---I feel like I keep getting a pretty scary calls nowadays, but I think it'll be good. This week I'm ready to give it everything I've got and finish off transfer four strong.
Thanks for the prayers, thanks for the pictures, thanks for the the love! Talk to ya'll in June ;)
