(*to be read dramatically to the tune of, "I'm Still Here" by the Goo Goo Dolls*)
Dear all,
IT'S TRUE!
We're staying together for the next two months in Nyíregyháza! Things are going to straight-up go down in flames this is going to be sick! AND we're getting a greenie in our city! Sister Jeppson and I are psyched out of minds! There's about to be some dang good missionary work going down in the Nyíregyháza lands!
Anywho, this week we also:
1. Had our first interviews in Hungarian! President Szabadkai is awesome. He literally radiates love from his very being. I think a Hungarian mission president is seriously one the best things for these people--and I'm stoked that I get to be a part of it. (Also...Sister Szabadkai made us some chocolate chip cookies...I've for sure been missing those bad boys ;)
2. We were on the escalator the other day and it stopped working and people legitimately freaked out and didn't know what to do and panicked. It was one of the most hilarious moments of my mission---Jeppson Nővér and I led the way to the top for everybody haha. Fun fact for everyone: escalators that stop moving are what we call stairs. ;)
3. We had our last English class before the break we're taking in August and it was really sad, I loved my class soo much! Best quote:
Me to a Hungarian: "What's the best fagyi place is Nyíregyháza?"
Them:"....fagyi? What does fagyi mean?"
Me: "Ice cream?"
Them: "OHHH ice cream!" Bahaha
4.A year after the MTC, I ran into my MTC teacher in the main square this week since he was back visiting Hungary! It was super weird! He even came to church and bore his testimony in Sacrament meeting and I understood it all and it was really funny because when he was in the MTC he was only allowed to speak Hungarian to us and I was used to only understanding him about 20 percent of the time! It was cool to see some growth there!
5. I love it here. I love these people so much it hurts. The fact that I get to blast out another transfer makes me so excited I can't even tell you. Missionary work sometimes is rough, but if you're surrounded by people you love it makes it all sooo worth it.
Alsssssooo, friendly last reminder: though your escalator may sometimes stop working, more often than not, your legs still are. So keep on truckin' ;)
Tudom hogy a Mormon könyve igaz!
