Dear all,
I'm trying to think of what DIDN'T happen this week...aaaaannd I'm drawing a blank. SO MANY THINGS.
Okay, okay, okay:
1.)My trainer is GOING HOME. What is this? You mean, I have to do this on my own? No one told me this day would come! Haha I'm super, super excited for Moffatt Nővér and the adventures she will have in the wilderness of Alaska (as I keep telling her--not just Alaska. It must be in the wilderness.)--and we're going to party it up at BYU in the year 2016...but that doesn't mean I still won't shed a couple tears at transfers tomorrow.Love that girl!
2.) Yep! That means transfers are tomorrow, baby! If you've ever seen the James Bond movie "Goldeneye" you've seen where I'm headed tomorrow--the Nyugati Station in Buda to say goodbye to the old, and then from there over to the Keleti Station over in Pest to say hello to the new! Crazy how time flies--I'm ending my greenie transfer!
3.) We had a lot of predictions for my next companion (there's not a whole lot of sisters in our mission, so you can try and piece the transferology together if you feel like it) but PLOT TWIST--I'M GOING IN A TRIO. Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaaatttt. I'm staying in home-sweet-home Szeged, but ohmygaaawwwsh. I'm going in a trio. I'm leveling up to a "tri-panion-ship"! For the third time! Wish me luck.(Especially because our apartment is big enough to fit approxiamately one and half people...and now we have to squeeze in three! Oh, sheesh!)
4.) This week was seriously INSANE. We had the Open House for the new branch house and gave out fifty books of Mormon and were running around and there were over a hundred non-members there. Yes, IN HUNGARY, there were over one hundred non-members there-- and the members sang "Come Unto Christ" in Hungarian and it was gorgeous and the branch made a bunch of "I'm a Mormon" videos and the newspaper was there and we had several investigators come and it was just all kinds of good.
Also--we had a short break from the Open House (we were there for TWELVE HOURS) to go get food, teach a lesson, etc. and one of our English class students had invited us to play Mediball with him (don't worry, I didn't know what that was either, I would highly recommend looking up Youtube videos) and we were like okay...maybe. And then when we had our break we were like: oh. We can actually go. And the only instructions he gave us literally were "to walk from the branch house until we saw a modern-looking building and then go in." And so we walked out and were like "uhhh...I feel like going left? Maybe?" And we DID and SOMEHOW those instructions worked and that's how we played the equivalent of karate-tennis-volleyball with our Hungarian English class student in skirts and dresses and it was definitely another "How Did I Get Here" moment hahaha-
Anyway, gotta keep it relatively brief this week, we have to pack and rearrange for transfers tomorrow--but I have lots more stories! Write me, people! Stuff my mailbox!
I love you!
