Dear all,
This week was great! It was a little weird not going up to transfers for the first time my entire mission, but it was super good not having to pack or pull anyone's luggage over the entirety of Hungary :)
We had a couple of my favorite lessons my entire mission this week--we were teaching this woman the Plan of Happiness and we started talking about where we came from before this life and who we were and she just goes: "Stop. Stop stop stop." And I'm like: "Oh, geez... this is going to be bad..." and then she says, "I need to go get my kids. They need to know this." So she rounds up all three of her kids and we get to start teaching them as a family. It was the best :)
We also met with one of the less-actives in the branch who is actually homebound and the Elders gave her the Sacrament in her apartment. She's super cute and super old and has a really hard time talking. At the end of the lesson, the Elders took out this hymnbook that they'd promised to bring her and she looked like she was going to cry and just hugged it to her chest the whole time. Eventually we managed to get it away from her to sing "Praise to the Man" (and my comp is a vocal performance major---so it turned out pretty good) and then in her broken voice she was just like: "I don't want to give it back!" And we were just like: "Awh, it's okay, we brought it for you, you don't have to give it back!" Super good.
In other news, it's been suuuuuuper hot this week. Sister Jeppson and I both have pretty naturally straight hair---but we keep waking up in the morning with straight-up curls because of the humidity and lack of air-conditioning. It has been soo hot. Grooooosssss!
Everyone we meet with has been super happy that we weren't affected by transfers, so it's been a really good week. It's been nice not having to acclimate to the newness for once and just buckling in for another transfer.
Anywho, shout-out to Dad and Ian---have fun in Paris! Remember the best of all is the Musée d'Orsay and that the Sacre Coeur has a hecka stairs---ya gotta want that bad boy.
Love you all, have an awesome summer week this upcoming one--wherever it may be!
